Clinical Hypnosis
Clinical Hypnosis
Clinical hypnosis has been described as an ‘altered state of consciousness, awareness or perception. By inducing a deep state of relaxation, but also ensuring you are in complete control, clinical hypnosis can significantly reduce anxiety or fear. Reasons to use clinical hypnosis are:
- Fear of childbirth (tokophobia)
- Fear of needles or hospitals
- Improve sleep quality
- Birth preparation to cope with childbirth and labour discomfort
- Post-traumatic stress disorder, often associated with a previous traumatic birth
Fear and anxiety of childbirth can often take the joy away from your pregnancy. A series of clinical hypnosis sessions (which can be combined with other complementary relaxation techniques), will help to reduce anxiety and encourage a deeper exploration of your worries and birth options.
A free 15-minute virtual consultation will be offered prior to booking to understand your concerns, and to make sure you are fully informed before making an appointment. Please be advised that the initial consultation will also require a 20-minute overview of your concerns, before treatment commences.
Please bring your handheld maternity records with you; treatments cannot be undertaken without full assessment of your pregnancy at each visit.
