Pregnancy Massage
Pregnancy Massage
Your pregnancy massage can be tailored to your particular needs, from 13 weeks of pregnancy onwards. An initial consultation will take place before any treatment to make sure I have full knowledge of your medical and antenatal history. Grapeseed oil is used during massage to prevent friction on the skin. You can treat yourself to an aromatherapy massage for a small extra charge.
Pregnancy massage is well-known to have many therapeutic emotional and physiological benefits including:
- Releases muscular tension, which results in the easing of shoulder, back or pelvic discomfort.
- Improves sluggish bowel movements.
- Significant easing of muscular discomfort including sciatica, restless legs, calf-cramps etc.
- Decreases stress and anxiety through enhancing your emotional well-being
- Reduction of blood pressure
- Eases tension headaches
- Reduction of swelling and oedema in hands, feet and ankles
- Induces relaxation and may help with insomnia or disturbed sleep patterns.
Pregnancy massage is also used in conjunction with other complementary therapies to optimise full treatment benefits, for example nausea and vomiting, post-dates treatments, anxiety and depression etc.
Please bring your handheld maternity records with you; treatments cannot be undertaken without a full assessment of your pregnancy at each visit.
